What does HA mean on this product?

The HA range is often searched for as “HiPP hypoallergenic formula.” Its milk protein has been hydrolysed, meaning it has been broken down into smaller pieces. This does not make the powder dairy-free or lactose-free, or a treatment for an established milk allergy.

HiPP’s published HA 2 information lists hydrolysed whey protein, lactose, GOS fibre and natural lactic acid cultures. The linked German ingredient label also includes palm, rapeseed and sunflower oils, fish oil, vitamins and minerals. Check the complete ingredient and allergen panel on the supplied box, particularly for milk, lactose and fish ingredients. Recipes and packaging can change.

Questions about HA Stage 2

Can HA Stage 2 be used from birth?

No. HiPP identifies HA 2 as a follow-on milk after six months, as part of a mixed diet. It is not a from-birth infant milk or a substitute for introducing complementary foods. The age on a box is a minimum starting age, not an instruction that every baby must change stages.

How does it differ from HA PRE or HA Stage 1?

HA PRE and HA 1 are from-birth infant milks. HA 2 has its own follow-on composition and feeding guide. Compare the full nutrition panel rather than assuming the powders or scoops are interchangeable. Ask your healthcare professional about continued HA feeding and any stage change.

Is this the same as HiPP BIO COMBIOTIK?

This listing is the HA COMBIOTIK range with hydrolysed milk protein. The regular BIO COMBIOTIK range is a separate product line. We do not describe this HA product as certified organic. Match the complete name, regional version and size rather than relying on a similar box design.

Preparation and storage

Powdered formula is not sterile. Follow all preparation directions on the actual box, including water temperature, the stated water-to-powder ratio and the supplied scoop. Prepare each feed fresh and discard unfinished milk. Do not swap scoops between recipes.

HiPP’s published label advises closing the opened inner bag carefully, keeping it dry at room temperature and using it within three weeks. Write down the opening date, check the best-before date and follow the supplied packaging if instructions differ.
